New species are regularly added with recent additions being the exquisite Silver Tip Sharks. Underwater Zoo, located on Level 2 above the main Aquarium tank, presents the bio-diversity in different ecological zones including Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean. Apart from Humboldt Penguins and Caiman Crocodiles, the animals featured here include Piranhas, Giant Spider Crabs, Water Rats, Sea Jellies and Clown fish. The Underwater Zoo experience is complemented by access to the 270-degree walk-through tunnel.
Shark Dives

Visitors have the opportunity to swim among the sharks and other aquatic animals at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo by participating in public Shark Dives. Organised in association with Al Boom Diving, Shark Dives at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo are open to all, with non-certified divers being offered the opportunity to take a short course provided by Al Boom Diving.
Held for the first time in the region in a mall environment, the Shark Dives give participants incredibly close encounters with Sand Tiger Sharks, Silvertip Sharks, Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks, Tawny Nurse Sharks and Stingrays, plus a whole host of other marine species. Qualified dive masters and instructors from Al Boom Diving will be present throughout the diving experience.

The all-new Dubai Aquarium Specialty Dive is a three-dive initiative that offers PADI certified visitors, the opportunity to take their diving experiences to a whole new level of exploring the marvels of underwater photography, and offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of being inside the Cage with our divers, as they feed the Sharks in the aquarium tank.

Jump into the 10 million litre tank without the hassle of diving equipment and air tanks! No experience is necessary and this activity is available to all ages. Visitors just need to put on snorkeling gear, dive into the secure cage in the aquarium and watch over 70 different marine species at close quarters. The cage has the capacity to accommodate up to four visitors and two instructors at a time.
Glass-Bottom Boat Rides

Visitors can enjoy spectacular views over the surface of Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo from the safe vantage point of a specially designed glass-bottomed boat at the top of the tank. Each boat can facilitate up to 10 persons. The ride takes about 20 minutes and offers an unprecedented opportunity to watch the aquatic animals at close quarters.
Aquarist Programme

Aquarist Programme at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo promises ‘big adventures for little ones’. Children are offered the opportunity to gain a fascinating glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action as an Aquarist, and discover the marvels of the marine world. The programme comes in two fun-packed experiences: As Junior Aquarist, open for children aged 5 to 7 years old, little ones will be provided a behind-the-scenes tour of Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. They can meet a professional Aquarist, watch a shark feeding session, assist in feeding the aquatic animals and experience a glass-bottom boat ride. The Senior Aquarist experience is for children aged 8 years and above. It includes a cage snorkeling experience for closer encounters with the 33,000 aquatic animals in the aquarium, and all activities in the Junior Aquarist programme.

New complementary feeding presentations have been introduced and will be held daily and on a regular basis at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. Different aquatic animals and zones are selected for the feeding presentations held on the same day allowing visitors to maximize on the learnings of more aquatic animals.
